BLUEPRINT TOMORROW
Your Future, Planned.
Retirement + Health & Fitness

Stay strong, stay covered, and keep your plan on track.

Your health shapes how you live in retirement and what it costs. Plan for both: the coverage you need before and after 65, and the habits that keep you independent.

WHY IT MATTERS

Health is one of the biggest variables in retirement.

It affects what you spend, when you can retire and how long your savings need to last.

Coverage before 65

Retire early and you need health insurance until Medicare starts. Your income decides how much help you get with the premium.

Medicare isn’t free

Premiums, surcharges for higher incomes, and out-of-pocket costs add up, and they belong in your budget from day one.

Strength is independence

Staying active helps you keep doing what you retired for, and can lower the risk of falls and costly care later.

HOW IT CONNECTS TO YOUR PAYCHECK

Blueprint builds your health costs into the plan.

Health costs aren’t a separate worksheet. They come straight out of your monthly retirement paycheck, so Blueprint plans them together.

  • Marketplace premiums and subsidies for every year before 65
  • Income kept below the subsidy cliff, with a safety buffer
  • Medicare premiums, including income-based surcharges
  • HSA contributions built into your paycheck

Healthspan Is Wealthspan

“It’s not the years in your life. It’s the life in your years.”

Meet the authors

Two professional perspectives.
One shared philosophy.

Rob Jones spent much of his career inside the financial operations of healthcare, including leadership responsibility for revenue cycle and patient financial services. Dr. Jason Kitchen is an emergency medicine physician who sees the clinical side of healthcare firsthand. Both have competed in endurance sports at a high level, and both believe that the greatest value of preparation is the freedom it creates to live well.

This book brings their perspectives together—not to promise a longer life or prescribe a single version of retirement, but to ask a question too often overlooked: what good is financial security if you have lost the health to enjoy it, or good health if you lack the financial freedom to use it?
